Historic homes near downtown
Around the seminary campus, North Main Street and the streets off White Street, you'll find houses from the 1800s and early 1900s: wood clapboard, tall windows, plaster walls and porches. These homes need patient prep. That means hand scraping, priming bare wood, glazing and caulking around old windows, and replacing rotten wood with carpentry repairs instead of filling it.
Wake Forest has a local historic district, and exterior changes there can require review by the town's historic preservation commission. If you're planning new siding, trim changes or other exterior work, check with the town before the job is scheduled.
Heritage, newer subdivisions and HOA rules
Most homes in Wake Forest were built in the last few decades, in communities like Heritage, Traditions, Holding Village and many smaller subdivisions. These homes usually have fiber cement or vinyl siding, HOA color requirements and builder-grade interiors. Common requests include interior painting to replace flat builder paint, fixing nail pops through drywall repair, and first-time exterior painting on homes now ten to twenty years old.
We work within your HOA's approved colors and give you exact product details for approval.
Falls Lake humidity and northern Wake weather
Being close to Falls Lake and surrounded by woods means a lot of humidity and shade. Mildew grows on north walls and decks, and pine pollen piles up every spring. Before we paint, the house gets a thorough power wash and dries out completely. Decks get cleaned before they're stained or painted, and any soft boards are replaced first.
Remodeling and finishes
If you're updating a kitchen or bathroom, our remodeling work keeps the whole project with one crew. That includes micro cement for a seamless shower, floor or countertop that often goes right over the existing surface.
Decks, porches and outdoor living
Many Wake Forest homes back up to woods, with large decks and screened porches built to enjoy them. Shade and humidity are hard on that wood. Boards turn gray and green, railings loosen, and steps soften at the ends. We clean decks with the right pressure, replace boards that are cupped or soft, tighten railings, and then stain or paint. Screened porch ceilings, trim and doors get the same care as the house, so the outside matches the inside.
